Hello everybody!

As this year's VCFe already has some exhibits relating to data communications in one way or another and I was given a CB radio set recently, I came up with the idea of setting up and operating a Packet Radio station at the festival. I will be bringing the Transmitter/Receiver (CV-2000), a PC-COM Minimodem, and a length of Ethernet cable with a couple of PL/BNC adapters.

Unfortunately, what I was not able to source at short notice was a mobile antenna, preferably one with a magnet base.( I would also be pressed to bring that along as I'm using public transportation both ways.) The idea is to put that up outside in a high place (a metal porch roof or, in a pinch, on a ladder) at the VCFe venue. If anyone coming to the festival could contribute that (and perhaps a proper PL-PL cable) on a loan basis, we could bring VCFe "on the air"!
